Venerable Sister Sudhira Bhikkhuni (Ayya Sudhira) took her novice ordination in 2000 and her higher ordination as a full bhikkuni in July 2004 under the Most Venerable Rahatungoda Saddha Sumana, a senior Bhikkhuni from a small nunnery in Eheliyagoda, Sri Lanka. Sister is currently based in Sydney and holds a chaplaincy position at the Prince of Wales Hospital and generously gives her time as a volunteer at the Buddhist Library. A very personable and gentle teacher, Sister brings to her teaching a deep sense of kindness and compassion.
